GlobalStar Travel Management
GlobalPoint is recognized in our industry as a leader. This fact is manifest in a number of key operational areas, with none more apparent than our role in GlobalStar Travel Management, a worldwide partnership of regional and national travel agencies. GlobalPoint is a founding member and shareholder of GlobalStar. Our General Manager is a global board member for the worldwide organization. The mission of GlobalStar is to provide local services and networking capabilities to key clients with multi-national operations.
The formation of GlobalStar was designed to create a worldwide joint venture partnership of leading independent travel management companies that are linked together in a formal business structure and share a common mission. The mission statement is as follows:
To provide corporations that require travel or travel related services an effective network to connect people and compete in today's global marketplace with a flexible, integrated and professional travel management partner of the highest quality that delivers services, information, knowledge and strategic pricing advantages in a culturally relevant manner.

GlobalPoint is an active force in the GlobalStar effort and has been one of the architects of the interactive global reporting system between members and its global fare database project.
GlobalStar’s international network presents an opportunity for its clients to consolidate travel management with a set of agencies that are committed to consistent service levels, similar technologies, and information sharing. Unlike the typical international franchise organizations, GlobalStar members are investors in the organization in their respective regions. The common desire to engineer a truly effective global entity has created (according to members who were once members of Amex, Carlson, or Radius) a superior consortium of some of the strongest agency players in their respective markets. The partners aren’t franchise operations and are more than just affiliates; they are people we know and trust. The working sessions are geared to creating solutions for managing multi-national travel accounts. All members have established business relationships with each other that facilitate the consolidation of travel management. These associations allow us to create a cohesive relationship through which the sharing of information, vendor contracts and reporting are seamless to our customers.
Hickory Travel Systems
Hickory Travel Systems provides an infrastructure that allows its members to take advantage of a variety of services primarily geared to managing corporate travel. These services include:
- 24-hour emergency call centers linked to GlobalPoint Travel's systems for bi-directional access to traveler reservations
- Hickory’s discount hotel program with over 13,000 hotels worldwide of which more than 7,000 are bookable through our systems.
- International rate desk to ensure accurate faring and routing
- Remote Desktop allows cross-Global Distribution System (GDS) access among members in order to co-manage accounts and communicate with members across the U.S.
- Numerous supplier agreements designed to reduce costs and enhance efficiencies throughout the membership (discounts for WebEx training sessions, preferred rates for FedEx, preferred carrier rates, etc.)
Signature Travel Network
GlobalPoint Travel is a shareholder and one of the largest agencies in this leisure and vacation travel network of agencies. Preferred pricing on vacation travel is available to employees of our corporate accounts through this well respected consortium.
